TERRE HAUTE -- The Wabash Valley Genealogy Society will offer a series of Beginning Genealogy Classes.
The series will include six class sessions to take place Wednesday, March 28, April 4, 11, 18 and 25, and May 2.
All classes will take place in the Vigo County Public Library in Terre Haute, in the lower level meeting rooms.
Doors open at 5:30 p.m., with classes running from 6-8 p.m.
Class size is limited to 30 participants with a fee of $15 per person charged to cover the classes and materials.
During the series of class sessions, participants can expect to learn how to fill out genealogy charts, how to record and organize information, where to find information to extend a family tree, and how to search online and in repositories.
Anyone who is new to genealogy and family research is invited to take the course. Genealogy "dabbles" who need additional direction in order to advance their research should also attend as well as researchers who want a refresher course in core research principles.
Every week, different members of the Wabash Valley Genealogy Society will give instruction in their particular area of expertise.
Advance registration for the classes is required. Registration may be completed online at the Wabash Valley Genealogy Society website, www.inwvgs.org.
