He was born Aug. 2, 1926, in Clay County, as the son of Boyd and Josephine Dewey Terril.
He married Jean Marie Baysinger, who has preceded him in death.
He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War.
He worked at Atlas Powder Company, sold sporting goods and was a pipefitter with Local 157.
He also worked at Bedwell Tire, Poffs Sporting Goods, Don Cox Sports and Marine, and was also a self-employed sporting goods salesman.
He was an active outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting, fishing and trapshooting.
He also enjoyed eating with friends at local restaurants.
He was a member of ATA, 50-year member of Masonic Lodge 5641, NRA and United Association.
He was preceded in death by his parents, stepmother Gladys Terril, wife Jean Marie Terril and son William Boyd Terril.
He is survived by grandson John Terril and his wife Elizabeth, great-grandson Colten Terril, grandson Travis Terril, daughter-in-law Pam Terril, niece Barb Campbell, all of Brazil, nephew Eddie Young, and other extended family and friends.
Visitation will be 5-8 p.m., Wednesday, Feb. 29, at Moore Funeral Home.
A Masonic Memorial service will be conducted at the funeral home, at 8 p.m., Wednesday.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m., Thursday, with burial to follow at Wesley Chapel Cemetery.
