Lona Marie Montgomery, 87, Brazil, passed away Feb. 28, 2012, at Cloverleaf Health Center.

Lona was born July 10, 1924, in Monticello Kentucky the daughter of Robert "Red" Sullivan and Mattie Lou Carrender.

She enjoyed taking care of her flowers in her free time, where she was known to have guests stop to admire her flowers at her home. She also took pride in her Pentecostal faith and her family. Lona volunteered at the Clay County Food Pantry for more than seven years.

She was preceded in death by her parents, sons Jimmy Lee Harness and Harold Ray Harness, daughter Gerlidine Harness, stepsons David Montgomery and Dick Montgomery.

Lona is survived by her daughter Brenda Hendrickson and Jim "Bubba" Hendrickson, Brazil, grandchildren Erica Harness, Jim Lee Harness, Heather Cinnamon, Amanda Hendrickson and James Hendrickson Jr., great grandchildren Chasidy Cinnamon and Ryleigh Hendrickson, along with many extended family members and friends.

Service will be Friday, March 2, 2012, at 2 p.m., with Pastor Harold Norman officiating at French Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Summit Lawn Cemetery. Visitation will be Friday from 11 a.m., until time of service. If friends so desire, donations can be made to her family, where envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
