"I think the county needs better leadership," Nicoson said. "I think I have much more business experience than most people up there."
Nicoson has 27 years of experience in coalmine management and manages his own business investments and farm interests. He is a member of the Disabled American Veterans (DAV) after serving in the Vietnam War in 1969 and 1970 with the 101st Airborne Division.
Currently, Nicoson serves on the Sugar Ridge Township Board and is a trustee of the Saline City Church. He was also a past trustee of V.F.W. Post No. 60606.
When asked what his goals are if elected, Nicoson said, "Better manage the county's money. Period."
Nicoson said he is currently semi-retired, as he still has farm ground and business investments that he manages.
"I have other things to do, but this needs done too," he said. "Being a veteran, I feel like someone's got to do something."
Other than the time when Nicoson was in the service, he has lived and worked in Clay County.
