New DAR chapter forming in Clay County

Thursday, March 1, 2012

The Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR) are forming a new chapter in Clay County.

The DAR is a non-profit, non-political volunteer women's service organization dedicated to promoting patriotism, preserving American history, honoring American veterans and securing America's future through better education for children.

An organizing meeting deciding the name of the new chapter, along with other matters of business, will be conducted at the Clay County Historical Society, Saturday, March 10, at 10 a.m.

Old, new and potential members of DAR are encouraged to attend.

Those who would like help with their genealogy research needed to join DAR are welcome.
