The Brazil Lions Club is currently accepting used eyeglasses and hearing aids for donations through a recycling program.

Dinner and Theater
The Parke Players -- based in Rockville -- will put on a production of, "The Kitchen Witches," March 2-3 and 6, which coincides with the Maple Festival.

Those interested are invited to the Brazil Public Library Friday, March 2, to celebrate the birthday of Dr. Seuss.
Those attending will make a craft in honor of his birthday.

Saint Mary-of-the-Woods College and the Department of Music and Theatre will present Rodgers and Hammerstein's classic, "The Sound of Music," March 1-4, in the Cecilian Auditorium on SMWC's campus.
The production will be Friday, March 2, at 8 p.m., with a reception and panel discussion afterward, Saturday, March 3, at 2 p.m., and 8 p.m., and Sunday, March 4, at 2 p.m.
Tickets are $10 for adults, $5 for children 10-16 and senior citizens, free for children 10-under and area college students with ID. SMWC Technical Director and Brazil City Council member Tyler Hutcheson will design the set.

Serving On The Streets (S.O.S.) will conduct a silent auction fundraiser Friday, March 2, at 7 p.m., at North Clay Middle School.
All proceeds from the event will go to help S.O.S. in its efforts to obtain a Community Focus Fund Grant for the renovation of the old Brazil High School Gymnasium.
The Clay County Humane Shelter, 8280 N. CR 125 W., Brazil, will conduct the "Dog Days of Spring," Saturday, from noon-5 p.m.
The event will be set up as a half-price auction event.
Officials stated they have several pets looking for homes. All animals have received shots and have been spayed or neutered.
Cost for a dog is $65. Cost for a female cat is $40 and cost for a male cat is $25.

Brazil resident Marjorie E. Hopkins will conduct a book signing at the Open Door, 3125 S. 3rd Place, Terre Haute, March 3, from noon-3 p.m.
She will be signing copies of her novel, "Dying to Meet Him: Wit and Wisdom from a Funeral Director's Wife."
Center Point United Methodist Church will host its fourth mission event Sunday, March 4, at 2 p.m., with a free concert by Graybeard.
At 3 p.m., Chris Pell will oversee a pie auction. Desserts, homemade yeast rolls and noodles will be available.
Following the auction, there will be a freewill offering chili supper.
An opportunity to support the mission efforts will be available throughout the event.
All money collected will go to support The Rock ministry for children, located in Clay City.
