Delta Theta Tau Sorority

The regular meeting of the Alpha Omega Chapter of Delta Theta Tau Sorority was held at 7 p.m., on Feb. 21, 2012, at the home of Diane Braden.

The meeting was opened by Chapter VP Kim Emmert-O'Dell with the Delta Opening Ceremony and Delta Prayer. The Secretary called roll with 12 members present. The January minutes were approved as read.

The Treasurer's Report was read. The Treasurer's Report will be filed subject to audit. On a motion by Jennifer French, the bills will be paid.

REPORTS OF COMMITTEES

February Philanthropy-Diane and Linda

Taste Treat-3 crock pot recipes were due, $10 tickets will be passed out in March, due back at April 17 meeting. This event is April 21 at NCMS.

Geraniums-Michelle reported a delivery date of Tues. May 8, 2012 at the Park Pavillion. Order sheets are due at March 20 meeting.

Scholarships-Michelle reported that Lindsay Thomas received our Spring 2012 Scholarship. She is beginning her Masters in Math Ed.

Standing Rules-Melissa brought forth some changes that were discussed

March committee reports include: Nominating and Budget

New Business - A donation was requested from the four boys raising money to go to England to Soccer Training/Camp this summer. On a motion by Jennifer French, we allowed $400 to be added to our bills for this donation.

Communications - A letter requesting our National nominations due by March 1. Thank you from Mike Bear.

The next meeting will be March 20, 2012, at Kim's home. Party Group is Kim Emmert O'Dell and Jenny Ringo.

The meeting was closed with the Delta Closing Ceremony.

Washington Township Club

The Washington Township Club met on Feb. 16 at 1 p.m., at the home of Linda Schiele. Brenda was hostess.

Judy England opened the meeting.

The Pledge of Allegiance and Homemaker's Prayer were repeated in unison.

Rosalind gave the devotions, "A moment with God, Open the Door."

Roll call was answered by five members telling how they recycle. Brenda led us in singing, "Thank you Lord."

The treasurer and secretary's report was given and approved. The collection was taken.

Health and safety lesson by Judy was on, "Diet and Diabetics, are your health and being."

Linda's report was about the coroner and surveyor duties.

We reviewed the lesson selection for next year. The volunteer community support report was completed.

Judy received coming events and gave the lesson, "Make your heart feel like dancing with fruits and vegetables."

We closed singing the Homemaker's Prayer. Refreshments were served and social time was enjoyed. Rosalind on the door prize.

The next meeting will be March 8, at 1 p.m., at Rosalind's home.

March 19, at 1 p.m., at the Extension Office, the lesson, "Cooking with Yeast," will be presented.

April 24, at 6:30 p.m., at the Clay County 4-H Faigrounds, the Homemakers Workshop/ Cultural Arts event will take place.
