NHS sixth at contest

The Northview High School Winter Guard competed in Winter Guard International (WGI) Cincinnati Color Guard Regional Finals Saturday and Sunday at Xavier University, Cincinnati.

On Saturday, Northview finished sixth with a score of 76.10. Carmel won the first round with a score of 86.50, while Warren Central was second at 81.50, followed by Lawrence Central (81.30), Trumbull (79.00), Norwin High School (77.40), Northview, Center Grove (70.30), and Miamisburg High School (68.80).

On Sunday, Northview finished sixth again with a score of 78.60. Carmel won with an 87.00, followed by Lawrence Central (83.20), Warren Central (82.10), Trumbull (81.60), Norwin (79.20), Northview, Center Grove (72.70), and Miamisburg (70.80).

The Knights will compete in the Indiana High School Color Guard Association (IHSCGA) State Finals at Center Grove Saturday, March 17.

Taking part in World Class competition, Northview will perform at 6:38 p.m.

Other schools competing in World Class include Center Grove (6:18 p.m.), Avon (6:28 p.m.), Warren Central (6:48 p.m.), Lawrence Central (6:58 p.m.) and Carmel (7:08 p.m.).

The awards presentation is scheduled for 7:28 p.m.

Northview's next WGI competition will take place Saturday, March 24, in the Midwestern Color Guard Prelims at Worthen Arena, 200 W. University Ave., Muncie, Ind., on the campus of Ball State University.

Taking part in Scholastic World Class, Northview will compete at 7:05 p.m. Other squads performing include Carmel (6:25 p.m.), Lawrence Central (6:35 p.m.), Norwin (6:45 p.m.), Miamisburg (6:55 p.m.), Warren Central (7:15 p.m.), and Center Grove (7:25 p.m.).

The WGI Midwestern Color Guard Championship Finals will take place Sunday, March 25.
