The following is a list of upcoming area events as provided to The Brazil Times:

Time Change

The Center Point Town Council has changed its meeting times.

The council will meet at 7 p.m., on the first Tuesday of each month at Center Point Town Hall. Prior, the council had met at 6 p.m.

The next meeting is scheduled for 7 p.m., Tuesday, April 3.

Board To Meet

The Brazil Board of Public Works and Safety will conduct a meeting Wednesday, March 14, at 10 a.m., in Brazil City Hall Council Chambers.

General business will be discussed and the public is welcome to attend.

Council To Meet

The Brazil Common Council will conduct a regular meeting Wednesday, March 14, at 7 p.m., in Brazil City Hall Council Chambers.

General business will be discussed and the public is welcome to attend.

Special Meeting

The Clay County Commissioners will conduct a special meeting at 10:30 a.m., Thursday, March 15, in the Commissioner's Courtroom at the Clay County Courthouse.

The purpose of the meeting is to award contracts for appraisal support services, to consider amended equitable sharing agreements and to consider agreements to refinance First Mortgage Bonds.

Performance

The Clay City High School Drama Club will present, "The Boarding House," Friday, March 16, at 7 p.m., and Saturday, March 17, at 2 p.m.

Tickets are $3 for students and $5 for general admission at the door.

NHS Play!

The Northview High School Drama Club will present, "Bard in a Box," a modern day version of "Taming of the Shrew," Friday, March 16, at 7 p.m., and Saturday, March 17, at 7 p.m.

Tickets are $5 for students and $7 for adults.

Blood Drive

The Indiana Blood Center will host a blood drive from 10 a.m.-2 p.m., March 17, at Fusion Salon.

Church Program

The Little Historic Church at Carbon will conduct a program Saturday, March 17.

This month, the entertainment will be provided by the McKinley Hill Church Praise Band, Breaking Silence.

All are invited to attend.

There will be a pitch-in dinner at 6 p.m., with the program beginning at 7.

Bingo!

The Rockville PTO will conduct a Longaberger Basket Bingo event Sunday, March 18, at the Rockville Elementary School cafeteria.

Play will begin at 2 p.m. Doors open at 1.

Cost is $20 for 20 games of Bingo.

All proceeds will be used to fund student field trips and other PTO sponsored activities.

Raffle tickets will be available for purchase for the Reunion Picnic Basket and Large Stow Away Basket. Cost is $1 for a ticket or $6 for five tickets.

Intermission games will also take place and a 50-50 drawing will be conducted.

Food and drinks will be available for purchase.

Candidates To Speak

Eighth Congressional candidate Kristi Risk and District 42 State Representative candidate Jim Meece will both speak at the Clay County Republican Club Meeting Monday, March 19, at 7 p.m.

The meeting will take place at the Clay County Senior Citizen's Center, 120 S. Franklin St., Brazil.

Corporation To Meet

The Clay County Building Corporation has scheduled a special meeting for Tuesday, March 20, at 8 a.m., in the Commissioner's Courtroom of the Clay County Courthouse.

Food Giveaway

The Church of Our Lord Jesus will conduct a food giveaway Saturday, March 24, from 1-3 p.m., at its church, 708 E. Hendrix St., Brazil.

Special Program

The Brazil Public Library will host Yankee Rose, Tuesday, March 27, at 6:30 p.m.

The landscaping and nursery specialists will present, "Getting Your Garden Ready."

Dinner Time!

The Lady Volunteers of Staunton will serve dinner at the Staunton Community Center March 30, from 4-7 p.m.

The menu will include baked steak, mashed potatoes and gravy, green beans, homemade yeast rolls, slaw, drinks and dessert.

Cost is $9.

Celebration Dinner

The 51st John L. Lewis Day Celebration Dinner will take place Sunday, April 1, at 11 a.m., at the American Legion, 211 E. Washington St., Oakland City, Ind.

All retired miners and their spouses, as well as widows and widowers of retired miners are welcome to attend.
