I-70 project to begin Monday

Friday, March 16, 2012

CLAY COUNTY -- The Indiana Department of Transportation (INDOT) recently announced the patch and rehabilitation project from United States 40 to State Road 59 would begin on or after Monday, March 19.

The project on Interstate-70 is a patch and rehabilitation project from U.S. 40 to SR 59.

It was awarded to Wabash Valley Asphalt for $4.3 million. The project will have the interstate down to one lane in a four-mile work zone 24 hours a day.

It is scheduled for completion July 15, 2012.

INDOT reminds drivers to use caution and consider worker safety when driving through a construction zone.

Is that supposed to be the project on SR 59 is from US 40 to I-70?

Interstate-70 does not run from U.S. 40 to State Road 59. Please clarify. I drive these 3 roads 3 days a week.

I think if you read the headline it say the I-70 project. "The project on Interstate-70 is a patch and rehabilitation project from U.S. 40 to SR 59". I should be a writer for the TIMES... I think the nit-wit who wrote this ment to say the project is from U.S.-41 to S.R.-39. I wouldlike to know why they even mention U.S. 40 or S.R. 59 on here other than we will see a lot more head aches on these roads when this all gets going in full force.

Does anyone even proof read anymore before they post it in the paper?

I believe this story is correct. What was once SR 46 between I-70 and US 40 was renamed US 40/SR 46. Here is an article that explains this confusing mess:

Why don't they (state department) do it after the new road and ramps are installed on I-70 seemed alot of wasted time and money, but we are talking about goverment now aren't we.

TylerWHutcheson: Why does the article have a Clay County dateline?
