Keller is in his third term as county surveyor, and he has spent most of his life surveying.
"Basically, I want to make sure the information is available and get it out to other surveyors in the area," Keller said.
"The county council has decided this will be a part-time office next year, so I want to make the information online and available to the public. I want to be available even without regular office hours."
During his time as county surveyor, Keller has worked on regulating drains for farmers.
"It's the first time in 20 years that they've all been in good shape," he said.
Keller had to receive permits from officials to work on the drains, set up meetings and do many other things to regulate the drains.
Licensed in both Indiana and Illinois, Keller has been surveying for various companies since 1980.
He also started his own surveying business, which merged with another company four years ago.
"My number one priority is to recover old section corners," he said.
"I want to recover the markers so the surveyor has a good starting point when he does a survey."
Keller has always lived in Clay County and is a member of the American Legion. He is married with two stepdaughters.
Local resident Rustina Johnson initially threw her hat in the ring for county surveyor, but recently confirmed with The Brazil Times she is not seeking election.
However, Johnson will still appear on the ballot because she missed the deadline to withdraw her name from the ballot.
