Organizers are preparing for the annual Clay County American Cancer Society's Relay For Life.

The event is scheduled to begin at noon, Saturday, May 12, at the Forest Park walking track.

Two specific events have been scheduled and are right around the corner.

The annual Yard Sale to benefit Clay County American Cancer Society's Relay For Life will take place Friday and Saturday, April 20-21, 8 a.m.-5 p.m.

Community donations of good condition items may be dropped off at 511 Edgewood Dr., Brazil, at any time. All donations are appreciated. If no one is home, just leave the items on the front porch.

All items will be priced at 50 cents during the sale, unless marked otherwise and all proceeds support Relay For Life.

In addition, the Moonshine Ride For Relay will take place Saturday, May 19.

Registration for the ride will take place from 8-9 a.m., with kickstands up promptly at 9 a.m.

Those interested in attending are encouraged to bring rain gear. The ride will take place, rain or shine.

The annual event, in its fifth year, is a ride to the Moonshine Store in Martinsville, Ill. While at the store, those participating can take part in what so call the "best hamburgers imaginable," while also supporting Relay For Life.

Cost to participate is $10 per bike, with all proceeds going to Relay For Life.

For further information on both events, contact Carrol Evans at 442-0505.

You wont be sorry for getting a burger from the Moonshine Store. I recommend the pork burger.
