Frontier Communications announced Wednesday morning that a contractor performing sewer upgrades in Seymour had cut a major fiber cable that supplies high-speed Internet to its service areas, including the Brazil area.
The location of the cut was along Hartsell Road and Killion Avenue in Seymour.
The incident took place about 10:45 a.m.
The area impacted stretches from Terre Haute and Greencastle across southern Indiana to Seymour, including Jasper, Princeton and Salem areas.
Frontier personnel were on site assessing the damage and made repairs.
The Internet was back up around 5:30 p.m., Wednesday.
