The CCHS students will ride school buses to Northview after lunch to participate in the event.
According to CCHS Principal Jeff Bell, Clay City hasn't experienced a mock accident for the past 15 years.
"We've had related presentations, but nothing like we're going to see Monday," Bell said. "This is to promote good decision-making and remind the kids of the consequences of one bad decision at the wrong time."
Bell said making good decisions is something CCHS tries to teach every day, especially around this time of year when prom and graduation are approaching.
Bell said he really appreciated Northview High School inviting his students to the event.
The mock accident will take place at Northview High School, in the back parking lot, beginning at 1 p.m.
Helping with the experience will be the Clay County Sheriff's Department, Clay County Deputy Coroner, Air Evac, Transcare, Jackson Township Volunteer Fire Department, Dick Johnson Volunteer Fire Department and Search and Rescue and the Posey Township Volunteer Fire Department, as well as the Clay County Prosecutor and a local funeral home.
Counselors will be available to talk with students after the experience.
