James Carl 'Banjo' Wallace

James Carl "Banjo" Wallace, 77, Brazil, died at 11:15 a.m., Thursday, April 12, 2012, at Union Hospital, Terre Haute.

He was born Aug. 17, 1934, in Clay County, the son of Ben Joe and Nettie Haltom Wallace.

He married Jo Ann Bray Aug. 24, 1957. She preceded him in death Sept. 1, 2007.

He was a member of New Life Fellowship Church, Terre Haute.

He had worked as a timber purchaser and as a minister.

He especially enjoyed calling Bingo at Meridian Towers, Cooper Towers and Jackson Gardens.

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Jo Ann Wallace, son and daughter-in-law Carl and Janice Wallace and their three children: Carl Dean, Carlie and Stephanie, daughter-in-law Patty Wallace, brothers Bill, Don and Lester Wallace, and sisters Julia Wallace and Norma Brown.

He is survived by sons Larry (Diane) Wallace, Terre Haute, Donald Wallace, Brazil, James (Linda) Wallace, Brazil, grandchildren Sara (Jacob) Sutton, Terre Haute, and Ryan (Amanda) Wallace, Terre Haute, great-grandchildren Hannah, Bryce and Gavin Sutton, Zachary Brayden, Eliana and Annelise Wallace, sisters Ruth (Bill) Sciotto, Rosedale, and Janet Wallace, Brazil, and sister-in-law Barbara Wallace, Reelsville.

Visitation will be 11 a.m.-1 p.m., Tuesday, April 17, at Moore Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be at 1 p.m., Tuesday, at the funeral home, with pastor Jeffrey Harpole officiating.

Burial will follow at Croys Creek Cemetery, Reelsville.
