INDIANAPOLIS -- Long-time Indianapolis Colts' quarterback Peyton Manning will return to his old stomping grounds for the fifth Children's Hospital Fundraising Gala.

The event will take place at 6:30 p.m., Saturday, May 5, at the JW Marriott Indianapolis, 10 S. West St., Indianapolis.

The event will mark Manning's first Celebration of Caring Gala appearance since leaving the Colts earlier this year.

Dignitaries and corporate sponsors will attend the gala, while Peyton and Ashley Manning will serve as the honorary chairpersons.

Since 2008, total net money raised from the Celebration of Caring Galas has exceeded $2 million.

The awards ceremony will include a Most Valuable Player award given to a community leader who has been an advocate for children's health in Indiana, and a True Hero award honoring a patient family and a department of the children's hospital.

Entertainment will be provided by Jayne Bond and the Pink Martinis.

Other guest speakers planning to attend include Indiana State Superintendent of Public Instruction Tony Bennett, St. Vincent Health CEO Vincent Caponi and St. Vincent Indianapolis Hospital President Kyle DeFur.

Peyton Manning Children's Hospital at St. Vincent has grown to more than 300 pediatric specialists, 46 inpatient beds, 15 beds in the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit and 17 private rooms in the Hilbert Pediatric Emergency Department.
