During a special meeting, the Clay County Drainage Board approved a drainage plan for Hoosier Lodging Inc., LLC., for the new hotel on State Road 59.
Clay County Soil and Water Conservation District Technician David Schroer looked over the plans and said they met all the requirements.
"They are using dry-wells to slow the run-off water down," Schroer said. "It's basically a hole with a lot of rock in it that gives the water a place to go."
He explained the roof of the hotel will have guttering, as well as an underground piping system to keep the water off the pavement and into the correct drains and ditches.
The Drainage Board accepted the plans.
