Optimists Selling Flags
The Clay County Breakfast Optimist Club is selling 3-by-5 American and State of Indiana flags for $8 each.

Meeting Location Moved
The Clay County Republican Club has changed its meeting place.
The club will now meet at Calvary Baptist Church, 526 S. Murphy Ave., Brazil, beginning with its May 21 meeting.
The church is approximately one block north of Pinckley Street.
Finger foods are provided at meetings and the public is invited to attend.
The meetings take place during the third Monday of each month.
Park Roads Closing
Some roads in Forest Park will be closed during the Subway/Rotary/Riddell Healthy Kids Fun Run practices and upcoming race.
Fuqua and Center streets will be closed at King Street. In addition, parts of Nabuca Drive, Bonnie Miller Drive, Tobe Sutherlin Lane and Jesse Pitts Drive will be closed.
The park will remain open and all sections will be accessible but may require alternate routes.
Dates and times for closure include 6 p.m., April 23, 26, and 30, and 6 p.m., May 3, 7, 10, 14 and 17.
On race day, Saturday, May 19, the roads will be closed from approximately 8 a.m.-noon.
Tryouts for the North Clay Middle School Cadet Corps and Northview High School Color Guard will take place April 25, at 6 p.m., in the Northview gymnasium.

The Brazil Public Library will host a make and take craft for children ages 8-older Wednesday, April 25, between 6-7 p.m.
Those interested in attending will make tissue paper butterflies.
The event is free and open to the public.

The Brazil City Council will meet Wednesday, April 25, at 7 p.m., in the Council Chambers. General business will be discussed.

Time For Crafts!
The Brazil Public Library will host a make and take craft event for youth ages 7-under at the library Thursday, April 26.
Youth may stop in anytime between 6-7 p.m., to make a spring butterfly windsock.
The craft is free and open to the public.

The Brazil Public Library will present, "Day in the Life of a Serviceman," by guest speaker Troy Nichols, at 6:30 p.m., April 26.
Those interested in attending will learn more of what service people do during a busy day.

The Daughters of the American Revolution will conduct their first official chapter meeting Thursday, April 26, at 6:30 p.m., at the Clay County Historical Society, in the basement.
A pitch-in lasagna dinner will be shared.
The members will discuss and decide the new chapter by-laws.
All ladies interested in finding out more about the organization are encouraged to attend.
The Lady Volunteers of Staunton will conduct a community dinner Friday, April 27, from 4-7 p.m., at the Staunton Community Center.
The menu will consist of beef and noodles, mashed potatoes, green beans, salad, dinner rolls, coffee, tea, lemonade and dessert.
Cost is $9 for adults and $5 for children 10-under.
Healthy Kids Day
The YMCA of Clay County will host Healthy Kids Day April 28, from 10 a.m.-2 p.m., at its location, 225 E. Kruzan St., Brazil.
The Y will host a Health Fair in conjunction with healthy Kids Day in the gymnasium and is currently interested in vendors.

The Clay County Humane Society will conduct a Jonah Fish Fry at the Kennedy Crossing Bingo Hall, Saturday, April 28, from 4-7 p.m.
A community chicken and noodle dinner will take place Sunday, April 29, from 11:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m., at the Reelsville Volunteer Fire Department.
A freewill offering will be taken. All are welcome to attend.
The dinner is sponsored by the Big Walnut Missionary Baptist Church.
Antique Tractor Show
Pappy's Barbecue will host an antique lawn and garden tractor show Sunday, April 29, from noon-4 p.m., in front of the establishment, located at 111 E. National Ave., Brazil.
Free ham and beans and hot dogs will be available.

French Funeral Home will host a Mother's Day Tea and Brunch event Monday, April 30, at 10:30 a.m., at the Renaissance Reception and Conference Center, 101 W. National Ave., Brazil.
The event is for anyone who has ever been a daughter.
Brunch will be served.
There will be a style show and demonstrations on cake balls and fresh flower arrangements.
