National Day of Prayer set for Thursday, May 3

Tuesday, April 24, 2012

The National Day of Prayer will take place Thursday, May 3, at noon, with prayer time beginning at 12:15 p.m., at the Clay County Courthouse, Brazil.

The theme of this year's National Day of Prayer is, "One Nation Under God," with the scripture reference of Psalm 33:12, "Blessed is the nation whose God is the Lord."

This is the 61st observance of the National Day of Prayer. The mission of the National Day of Prayer Task Force is to mobilize prayer in America and to encourage personal repentance and righteousness in the culture.

The vision of the National Day of Prayer Task Force is to mobilize and encourage personal and corporate prayer on the first Thursday of May and throughout the year.

Attendees at the May 3 event will be broken into prayer circles. Anyone who has a desire to pray will have the opportunity to pray. Everyone is welcome to bring a lawn chair for comfort and a sack lunch if they choose to stay for fellowship with others after the event.
