Junior varsity softball splits with Cougars and Mustangs

ELLETTSVILLE -- The Northview junior varsity softball team lost a 5-3 contest on the road at Edgewood in a game shortened to four innings by lightning.

The Mustangs scored all five of their runs in the third inning.

Melissa Lummis had a hit, scored once and stole a base for the Knights and Shelby Dupin had a hit, stolen base and scored.

The Northview junior varsity softball team earned an 18-5 victory against Bloomington North on Thursday night.

Melissa Lummis had a pair of hits, scored three times, walked twice and drove home a run. Karli Atkinson scored three times, had a pair of hits, walked once and drove home a run for the Knights. Mikayla Atkinson had two hits and scored a pair of runs, Traci Wyndham had two RBI and two hits while scoring a run and Jensen Swaim got the pitching win and drove home three runs.

The junior varsity Knights are now 4-7 overall.
