TERRE HAUTE -- Tickets are now on sale for the musical production of "Jesus Christ Superstar," to be presented Friday, June 8, and Saturday, June 9, by the Terre Haute First Baptist Church Music Department, 4701 E. Poplar St., Terre Haute.
The musical, written by Tim Rice and Andrew Lloyd Webber, will be presented as a dinner theatre, with full dinner and dessert.
The dinner will begin at 6:30 p.m., and the production will start at 7:30.
Directors for the presentation are Susan Sneddon (FBC staff organist) and T.J. Sneddon. Both are also members of Terre Haute First Baptist Church.
In addition, Rev. Steve Newman, First Baptist Minister of Music, and Matthew S. Huber, Brazil Concert Band and Jackson Township Community band director, will conduct the orchestra for the musical.
The production features a 35-member cast, 14-piece orchestra, and 12 production coordinators and technical assistants. The cast and orchestra are composed of Terre Haute First Baptist members as well as cast members from several other community churches in Brazil, Terre Haute and Sullivan.
Leading actors include T.J. Sneddon as Jesus, Rick Swearingen as Judas, Dave Archer as Pilate, Chad White as Caiaphas, Carl McKinney as Herod and First Baptist Pastor Bernie Jackson as Simon Zealotes, all of whom have previously played these roles in other "Jesus Christ Superstar," productions. Carol McConnell is featured as Mary Magdalene and Ethan Rayburn will portray Simon Peter.
Tickets for the dinner and musical are $20 per person, with group rates available for groups of 10 or more.
All seating is reserved and no tickets will be sold at the door.
