The Terre Haute Bowlers Hall of Fame held its 43rd Dinner at the Idlecreek Banquet Hal on April 30.
Larry Nolte, local bowler, was inducted to the Hall of Fame for service to the sport of bowling.
Nolte started bowling in 1958 and is an avid bowler. He has bowled more than 70, 700 series, several 300 games and is averaging over 200 in most leagues. He is currently the coach for the Northview High School Bowling teams and has been a YABA coach for several years at Brazilian Lanes. He was also presented an award for Coach of the Year by the Wabash Valley Junior Bowling Association.
Three other awards were presented by Robert Hill for Brazilian Lanes.
Douglas Pierce II is Junior Bowler of the Year, Stacey Clark is Female Bowler of the Year and Brian Britton is the Male Bowler of the Year.
Nolte joins previous members from Brazil that have been inducted into the Hall of Fame. Doris Berry (1987), Bob Hill (1991), Mike Boswell (1993), Donnie Burk (1995), Tom Barr (1996), Phyllis Peterson (2003), Cathy Cunningham (2007) and Scott Hill (2008).
Dean Young was also a nominee.
