Two win fishing contest

Tuesday, May 8, 2012

Jack's Live Bait and Tackle, 2799 W. County Road 950 N., Brazil, began area fishing contests earlier this year.

Two winners have already been declared.

The business conducted a Crappie Fishing Contest recently. The contest concluded in March.

Jay Patrick, Brazil, won the contest, catching a 15-inch Crappie at Craig Park.

He earned a rod and reel combo for the first-place finish.

Brazil resident Larry McCullough also won the Bass Contest, which ended May 6.

He caught a 4-and-three-quarter pound large mouth bass for the win.

His prize was a camping tri-pod grill.

More contests are planned by the business, including a Catfish contest, which will end June 1.

Contests will be posted at the bait shop.

In addition, a contest for children 12-under is in the works.

Those participating in the contest are asked to bring the fish to the business for weight and measurement.

Photos will be taken of the winners.
