TERRE HAUTE -- United Way of the Wabash Valley will conduct its sixth Campaign Appreciation and Recognition Event (C.A.R.E.) Wednesday, May 16, in Dede III at Indiana State University's Hulman Memorial Student Union.

The event is a way to recognize the local companies that have donated to the 2011 Campaign and contributed to the organization reaching the 2011 campaign goal of $1.85 million.

A continental breakfast will be served at 9:30 a.m., with the presentation of awards following at 10. The event is expected to end at 11 a.m.

Invitees to this year's event were selected based on their organization's per capita giving (amount donated per number of employees).

The monetary donations are divided into three categories: Employee gift, corporate gift and combined employee/corporate gift. Each recipient will receive an award in either Gold, Silver or Bronze level of giving.

More than 120 companies have been invited to attend the event.
