Celebrating their 100th year, the Girl Scouts are having a camp this summer for any area girls.
Girl Scout Camp will be June 11-15, at the ISU Field Campus, located off United States 40, for girls going into first-grade through twelfth-grade.
The day camp will include songs, games, canoeing, crafts, nature activities and chances to learn about career opportunities pertaining to nature.
The girls third-grade and up will have the chance to stay overnight in tents on Thursday night.
Camp Director Tammy Bond said she plans to have a special guest each day.
"Girl Scouts builds confidence, courage and character," she said. "It builds up the girls and let's them be themselves."
Cost for non-registered girls is $52, and $40 for registered girls.
The girls who attend the camp do not have to be girl scouts, and Bond said she is also looking for adult volunteers to help with camp activities.
"We encourage (the girls) to be strong and become leaders," Bond said. "Building up the girls is the best way I can describe (the camp.)"
