A routine traffic stop Tuesday evening resulted in the arrest of a local woman.

According to officials, Clay County Sheriff's Deputies initiated the traffic stop for multiple traffic violations.

During the course of the investigation, deputies requested assistance from a Brazil Police Officer/K-9 Handler.

After a positive K-9 indication, deputies discovered an undisclosed amount of a substance in the vehicle.

The driver informed deputies the substance was "crystal meth."

Deputies also discovered marijuana and paraphernalia inside the vehicle.

The driver of the vehicle, Shawna Batchelor, 32, Brazil, was preliminarily charged with dealing methamphetamine (a class B felony), possession of methamphetamine (a class D felony), possession of marijuana (a class A misdemeanor) and possession of paraphernalia (a class A misdemeanor).

Batchelor was transported to the Clay County Justice Center and is being held on a $25,000 bond.

According to officials, Batchelor's four children, who were with her during the traffic stop, were released to a family member.
