Serving On the Streets (S.O.S.) recently concluded it's two month "Change for Change" fundraiser, which brought in approximately $4,000 worth of change, according to S.O.S. Fundraising and Volunteer Coordinator Shannon Clark.
Clark said S.O.S. worked with Riddell National Bank throughout the fundraiser, which raised money for the new community center that will be located in the old Brazil Junior High School building, located on Washington Street.
She said S.O.S. is attempting to secure a federal grant for the renovations, but needs to raise as much money as possible to match its portion of the grant.
"Thank you to everyone for being a part of the change here in Brazil and believing in what S.O.S. is doing," Clark said. "Jenni Chamberlain, our director, and the rest of our staff is very excited to see what the future holds with the possibility of the grant coming in this year."
