Jackson Township Better Homes Extension Club
The Jackson Township Better Homes Extension Club conducted its April 26 meeting at the Clay County Extension office, hosted by Norma Diel.
Ruth Haas, president, called the meeting to order with all reciting the Pledge of Allegiance and the Homemaker's Creed.
For devotions, Rose Mary Price read, "The Lifeline."
Ten members answered roll call by telling their father's occupation.
Barbara Powell led in singing, "Let Me Call You Sweetheart."
The secretary's and treasurer's reports were read by Glenna Ogborn and approved.
Norma's citizenship report covered the general primary election.
At the May meeting, club dues and the leukemia donation will be collected. Tickets for the Achievement Program, June 26, at 5:30 p.m., are to be purchase also. The theme is Country Hoedown.
Open class information for the fair was handed out. Clay County hosts the Fall District Meeting, Aug. 28, with quilting being the theme.
The designs for the name tags, table runners and napkins were examined so the clubs will know what to prepare for it.
Ruth Haas presented the lesson, "Building Family Bonds Across The Generations."
The closing prayer was sung to end the meeting.
Other members present were Bobbi Cayton, Lauralee Hawkins, Carmen Jackson, Mary Kent and Martha Ellen Knox.
The 75th anniversary meeting will be May 28, at noon, at Cook's Corner, Poland.
