Janet Kay Farris, 65, Brazil, passed away on May 10, 2012, with family and friends by her side.

Janet was born on Aug. 17, 1946, in Brazil, the daughter of Gib and Norma (Bryant) Bishop. She was a part of the Clay City High School graduating class of 1964. Janet raised three kids: Angie Farris, Andy Farris and Mike Farris. She has many family members living in the Clay City area, an aunt and uncle living in Clearwater, Fla., and several cousins in Effingham, Ill. Janet had so many beloved family and friends met through her personal relationship with Jesus and the family of God.

Janet enjoyed making handmade crafts, owned her own ceramic shop for many years and was known to have a green thumb when it came to growing flowers and potted plants.

She loved to meet people and made many dear friends during her crafting endeavors. Janet loved the Lord and was saved by the Grace of God. She was a member of Martz Community Church in Clay City, where she played the piano for many years. She loved helping others and was blessed to have many precious friends and loved ones.

Service will be Monday, May 14, 2012, at 12 p.m., at Schoppenhorst Funeral Home in Clay City. Burial will follow at Maple Grove cemetery. Visitation will be at 10 a.m., until time of service.
