PARKE COUNTY -- "Bark For Life," a major Relay For Life fundraising event will take place at the Parke County Fairgrounds on Saturday, May 19, from 10 a.m.-3 p.m.
This event includes activities for the entire family -- even the family dog.
The event celebrates cancer survivorship, honors those lost to cancer and provides an opportunity for the community to support the American Cancer Society's mission of creating more birthdays.
Activities begin at 10 a.m., and include the annual Relay For Life Silent Auction, the Bark For Life Dog Walk, the annual Survivors Walk and Luncheon, and children's book sale, contests, games and more.
Registration for dogs begins at 9:30, and the dog walk starts at 11. After the short walk, dogs can get a bath, have their nails trimmed, enter contests and go shopping for discount pet supplies.
At noon, a celebration of cancer survivorship will start with a survivors walk.
Following the short walk will be a complementary luncheon for survivors and caretakers.
A silent auction, with more than 500 items, will take place throughout the day.
Some of the items up for grabs are an Amish-made glider, tickets to King's Island and Holiday World, locally handcrafted jewelry and much more.
All money raised goes to the American Cancer Society.
