He was born in East Chicago, Ind., the son of Albert and Frances (Barwick) Nischan.
After gaining his GED, he attended college for two years.
John worked in the roofing industry for a period of time, but most of his career was spent as a fiberglass mold maker.
John served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War and married Karen Tedder June 20, 1996.
John truly enjoyed writing and especially painting and reading the Bible.
John is preceded in death by his parents and sister Esther Hotrum.
Survivors include his wife Karen Nischan, daughter Megan Nischan, siblings Patsy Light, Brazil, Eva Krevenko, Kenny Nischan and Norman Nischan, all of Allentown, Pa., as well as a host of nieces, nephews and extended family members.
At his request, cremation services will be provided. Services have been entrusted to French Funeral Home.
