The Northview softball team wrapped up its regular season by cruising past the visiting Rockville Rox on Thursday evening. The Knights pounded out a 17-hit offensive attack to score the 11-1 victory.
Taylor Carter picked up the pitching victory to improve to 15-5 this season as she held Rockville to just three hits while striking out 10 batters. At the plate, Carter helped her own cause with a 4-for-5 effort with three doubles and five runs driven in to spark the offense.
Ashley Hughes produced three hits in the victory and scored twice while walking once. Hope Torbert was 2-for-2 with two walks for the Knights. Whitney Halfhill set the tone at the top of the lineup with a 2-for-4 game, scoring four runs, walking once and stealing a base. Madison Nevins drove in a run and had two hits with a stolen base and Alyssa Conrad doubled to drive in a run and walked once.
Carter upped her team-high doubles total to 12 this season and has 20 extra base hits to lead the team. Conrad has hits in 11 of the last 12 games for the Knights. Carter has hit in 16 of the past 17 contests for the Knights. Halfhill has hits in each of the last eight games.
The Knights wrap up a 22-6 mark in the regular season, 5-1 in the conference and host Terre Haute North on Monday evening for sectional play at 5:30 p.m.
