In honor of Memorial Day, scheduled for Monday, May 28, the Clay County Republican Club will host Col. Don Moreau as its guest speaker during its monthly meeting Monday, may 21.
Col. Moreau served in the United States Army for 28 years. He fought in World War II, the Korean War and Vietnam War.
He continued to serve his nation and his fellow veterans after his military retirement by serving on the National Homeless Veterans Commission under George W. Bush, and on other various boards.
He has served the state of Indiana by working in or with the administrations of Indiana Governors Otis Bowen, Robert Orr, Evan Bayh, Frank O'Banon, Joe Kernan and Mitch Daniels.
He and his wife, Linda, served on the board of the Hoosier Veterans Assistance Foundation.
He has also served his community locally on the Sheriff's Merit Board and on the Center Point Town Council.
At the Clay County Republican Club meeting, Moreau will share his experiences in the various roles he has had throughout the years.
The meeting location for the month of May has changed. The meeting will take place at the Kennedy's Crossing Center, 8990 N. Kennedy Crossing Rd., Brazil, across from Northview High School.
The meeting will take place at 7 p.m. Light refreshments will be served.
