Alpha Omega Chapter of Delta Theta Tau Sorority

The regular meeting of the Alpha Omega Chapter of Delta Theta Tau Sorority took place at 7 p.m., May 15, at Fellowship Hall.

The meeting was opened by Chapter President Kathy Bridgewater with the Delta Opening Ceremony and Delta Prayer. The secretary called roll with 15 members present.

The April minutes were approved as read.

Reports of Committees

* April Philanthropy -- Report tabled until June,

* Taste Treat -- A lot of good comments were heard. A new idea -- have a ticket taker at the beginning of the food line to keep a good count, profit announced at June meeting, 11 cookbooks left to sell,

* Standing Rules -- Were passed out by Melissa, and

* Geraniums -- Janice reported we still have some extras to sell. Thanks to everyone who helped. Money needs to be turned in before May 31.

New Business

Initiation practice for June 19 will be June 12 at Presbyterian Fellowship Hall at 7 p.m. Linda Sheese made a motion to donate our pledge $1,000 to YMCA Strong Kids Campaign. Linda Sheese is claiming hours for Breast Cancer Survivors.

Kathy Modesitt and Jennifer French are claiming hours for Rotary. On a motion by Janice, Diane Braden will be our non-delegate to the National Convention.

Chapter registration form and Form 52 were received.

Rotary requested a door prize donation for July 4. On a motion by Melissa, Kathy Modesitt will create one.

Donation request from Carli Coughanowr for her mission trip to Poland this summer.

New chapter in Ohio, on a motion by Linda Sheese, we will send $25 Welcome Dollars.

The next meeting will be June 19, 2012, at Fellowship Hall. Party group is Bonnie and Kim.

The meeting was closed with the Delta Closing Ceremony.

Tri County Community Club

The Tri County Community Club met at the Oak Grove Baptist Church April 18, with Bonnie Hardwick and Sandy Maines furnishing the meat for the pitch-in luncheon.

It was a great meal.

Wilma Holsapple gave the blessing.

Our afternoon business meeting was opened by our president, Rhonda Tincher, with all repeating the club creed and the pledge to the American Flag.

The surprise package was won by Sandy Maines. The hostess gifts were won by Rhonda and Diana Nees.

Devotions were read by Roberta Nees, stating children learn what they live, and Rhonda Tincher on Barbara Bush reflections.

Roll call by Linda Rushton was answered by 13 members telling, "What we all did for Easter," "I had an adult Easter Egg Hunt," "I'm telling you they acted like they were little rebels." They also helped the babies hunt, ha ha.

The secretaries' report by Linda was read and approved.

The treasurer's report by Evelyn Rubeck was also read and approved.

The card report by Wilma, sending four cards for the month.

The hospital report by Linda was read and approved.

On May 7, at the Clay County Courthouse, we will have breakfast and lunch, sloppy joes, biscuits and gravy, ham and beans, cornbread, tacos and drinks, plus a great homemade bake sale. All are welcome, come early.

Roberta Nees got her birthday gift. We wish her a happy birthday. If anyone has a donation for our club, please call 795-4462 or 986-6351.

We closed our meeting with all repeating the Lord's Prayer.

Now time for Bingo. Hurray.
