Members of the Eliza Rizley Stacey Chapter of the National Daughters of the American Revolution recently attended the Indiana DAR State Conference in Indianapolis.

The Eliza Rizley Stacey Chapter, named after the first child born to settlers in Clay County, was the first DAR Chapter to be organized in the state since 2006.

The chapter was organized in April with 19 members.

Those in attendance at the officers' installation at the state conference included Miriam Carnahan, State Chaplain; Janet Lloyd, Central District Director; Jo Ann Pell, ERS member; Betty Grochowski, ERS Registrar; Linda Moreau, ERS Treasurer; Valle Staley, ERS Recording Secretary; Teea Lunsford, ERS Vice Regent; Jodi Lohrman, ERS Regent; and Jane Klotz, ERS Sponsor.

Attendees learned how to promote patriotism and education in their local communities through community service and support.

Anyone interested in learning more about the Eliza Rizley Stacey NSDAR should contact Lunsford at 812-841-6784 or Lohrman at 812-201-8704.
