Old water tank to be demolished

The Board of Public Works and Safety met recently to discuss the closure of city streets for the demolition of the old water tower tank.

According to Brazil Mayor Brian Wyndham, the streets that will be affected for two-days, are E. Midland Street from N. Columbia Street to N. Vandalia Street and N. Vandalia Street from E. Midland Street to E. Compton Street.

Wyndham said the project is tentatively scheduled for June 4-5, and will be handled by HWC Engineering, Indianapolis.

In other board news:

* Brandon Sciotto from Clay County Search and Rescue informed the board of a fundraising Country Rhodes Fish Fry taking place June 16, at Forest Park,

* Brazil Police Chief Clint McQueen informed the board the Brazil Police Department has responded to over 3,000 calls this year to date.

The Board of Public Works and Safety meets regularly the second Wednesday of every month, or as needed, at 10 a.m., in Brazil City Hall.
