Marie Parr, 89, Brazil, died Wednesday, June 6, 2012, at St. Vincent Clay Hospital following several months of health complications.
She was born Oct. 24, 1922, at Clay County Hospital, the daughter of Ruben and Edith (Siner) Crosley.
Following graduation from Van Buren High School she worked at Ann Page (Quaker Maid) in Terre Haute.
She married William Orval Parr, May 25, 1946, who started Parr's Shell Fuel Oil Service, which she helped with for 50 years.
She was a member of the Forest Avenue Methodist Church until its closing; she then attended the Trinity Baptist Church.
She enjoyed flowers, sitting on her front porch and spending time with friends and family. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Orval, one brother Martin Crosley and one sister Josephine Butler.
She is survived by two sons Ernie Parr and wife Peggy and Darry Parr and Bonnie, one grandson Brad Parr and wife Nicki and one great grandson Braden Parr, as well as several nieces and nephews.
Services will be at Lawson -- Miller Chapel Monday, June 11, 2012, at 10 a.m.
Burial will follow at Calcutta Cemetery.
