An accident at the intersection of Alabama and Mechanic Streets, Brazil, happened Friday afternoon, sending two to the hospital.

Two juveniles on a moped were traveling near the intersection and allegedly hit another vehicle traveling northbound.

The vehicle swerved, striking another vehicle that was heading south on Alabama Street.

One of the individuals on the moped was taken to the hospital with a possible broken leg.

A woman driving one of the vehicles involved in the accident was transported to the hospital after being "shaken up."

Officials had her go to the hospital to be monitored, according to Brazil Police Chief Clint McQueen.

According to officials with the Brazil Police Department, the investigation resulted in the moped driver disregarding the stop sign, therefore, causing the accident.

Responding to the accident were Brazil Police Department, Clay County TransCare and Brazil Fire Department.

"According to officials with the Brazil Police Department, the investigation resulted in the moped driver disregarding the stop sign, therefore, causing the accident." SHOCKING!

People need to remember that ANY wheeled means of transportation (lawnmowers included, since we live in Brazil) MUST obey the Rules of the road.

This could have been a lot worse. PLEASE be considerate of other drivers when driving.

What concerns me is that such young kids are allowed to ride these on the open roads legally and (in my opinion) don't fully understand the laws and/or do not understand how dangerous it really is out there.
