White Violet Center to host summer camp

WEST TERRE HAUTE -- Wabash Valley children have a prime time opportunity to have fun and learn at the same time by participating in the summer day camp at White Violet Center for Eco-Justice at Saint Mary-of-the-Woods.

Children entering third-grade in the fall of 2012 and up to and including children who have recently completed fifth-grade are eligible to enroll.

Camp dates are June 25-29.

Activities are centered around organic gardening and the alpaca farm. Some topics include planting a garden, visiting the alpacas, creating a worm farm, exploring the world of bees, exploring nature trails and numerous other activities and games.

Summer camp times are 8 a.m.-noon, each day. Children may be dropped off between 7:45-7:55 a.m., and should be picked up by 12:15 p.m. Drinks and snacks will be provided. Lunch will not be provided. Only 20 children will be accepted for enrollment.

Cost is $85 per child, with a $10 discount for CSA shareholders and staff members for the Sisters of Providence and Saint Mary-of-the-Woods College.
