Officials with the City of Brazil will conduct a public hearing during the Brazil Board of Public Works and Safety meeting, which will take place June 27, at 10 a.m., at Brazil City Hall, 203 E. National Ave., Brazil.
During the public hearing, representatives from the engineering firm HWC Engineering will present their findings and recommendations for Brazil's drinking water system, as it relates to an amendment to the previously completed Preliminary Engineering Report (PER).
The PER amendment, as well as the projects outlined in the amendment, will be funded through remaining funds on an existing DWSRF loan. Every effort will be made to allow persons to voice their opinions during the public hearing. Persons with disabilities or non-English speaking persons wishing to attend the public hearing who need assistance should contact Susan Patterson at Brazil City Hall via phone at 443-2221, no later than June 25. Copies of the PER and PER amendment are now available for public viewing and will be through July 2, at Brazil City Hall, between 9 a.m.-4 p.m., Monday through Friday.
Interested citizens are invited to provide comments regarding the study either at the public hearing or through written statement. Written statements regarding the study should be sent to Matthew Pierce, 151 N. Delaware St., Suite 800, Indianapolis, Ind., 46204, prior to July 2.
The project will result in no displacement of any persons or businesses.
