Frederick Leon Adamson, 89, Brazil, died Tuesday evening, June 26, 2012, at St. Vincent Clay Hospital, Brazil.

He was born Dec. 8, 1922, in Lena, Ind., as the son of Phil H. and Reba LaRue Adamson.

He graduated from Bridgeton High School.

He married Marjorie Mercer Oct. 20, 1942.

Fred was owner and operator of Adamson Laundry and dry cleaning business.

He was a member of the Carbon Baptist Church, Masonic Lodge FA&M 529, and the Brazil Rotary Club.

He was preceded in death by his parents, sister Virginia Landes, and brother-in-law Albert Landes.

He is survived by his wife Marjorie, son Mark D. Adamson (Connie), Brazil, daughter Lisa M. Caldwell (Kevin), Terre Haute, grandson Ethan F. Caldwell, Terre Haute, granddaughters Olivia K. Caldwell and Lily M. Caldwell, both of Terre Haute, three step-grandchildren and other extended family.

Visitation will be 9 a.m.-noon, Saturday, June 30, at Moore Funeral Home.

Funeral services will take place at noon, Saturday, with Perry Major officiating.

Burial will follow at Calcutta Cemetery.
