On Wednesday, the club officially kicked off the 2012 Rotary Club of Brazil 4th of July Celebration with "Special Rides for Special People."
The midway opened early Wednesday offering the rides for those in attendance.
"Rotary is a service club. That's what we're all about," Rotary President Duane Butt said. "We want them to enjoy the carnival. It's pretty rewarding. It gives you a warm feeling."
The carnival was open between 1-3 p.m., for the afternoon event.
A handful of rides were running.
Family Attractions Amusement officially opened the midway to the general public at 5:30 p.m., and the Vandells kicked off the entertainment this year with two shows, at 7 and 9 p.m.
Events continue today with a Fish Fry beginning at 4 p.m., with all benefits going to both the Northview and Clay City high school bands.
Entertainment for Thursday was to be provided by the Northview band and color guard, in addition to the North Clay Middle School band and Cadet Corp.
During a meeting Wednesday afternoon, the Rotary Club of Brazil unanimously voted to dedicate this year's celebration in memory of longtime member Fred Adamson, who died late Tuesday.
