The following is a list of upcoming area events as provided to The Brazil Times:

New Scrapbook Group forming

The Scrapettes are proud to announce their new scrapbooking group.

They are asking anyone to come have fun with them, make new friends and preserve memories.

Cost is $5 per person and all money goes to the senior center for cost of use of the building.

Those ages 18-older are invited. The meetings will take place during the last Saturday of each month at the Clay County Senior Citizen's Center, 120 S. Franklin St., Brazil.

Office Hours

The main office of Northview High School will be open Monday, Wednesday and Friday during the summer from 8 a.m.-noon, beginning June 15 through July 23.

Transcripts and work permits may be obtained during those times.

The office will reopen for regular business hours Tuesday, July 24.

Scheduled Meetings

The Clay County Local Emergency Planning Committee will conduct its regular 2012 meetings prior to the Clay County Fire Chief's Association at 6 p.m., with the chief's meetings at 7 p.m., during the following dates:

* Aug. 21 -- At the Van Buren Fire House, and

* Nov. 20 -- At the Posey Township Fire House.

Historical Society To Meet

The Clay County Historical Society will meet Monday, July 2, at 7 p.m., in the lower level of the museum.

The guest speaker for the meeting will be Linda Moreau, who will discuss, "The History of Dolls."

Special Service

The Door Christian Fellowship Church will have a special Independence Day service Wednesday, July 4.

The hour-long service is called the Liberty Healing Crusade and begins at 11 a.m.

According to The Door CFC, the service will seek from the Lord: Healing for your body, deliverance for your mind and rest for your soul.

T.F. Morales of Terre Haute will be the evangelist.

The Door Christian Fellowship is located at 100 N. Forest Ave.

Association To Meet

McCullough Zion Gummere Cemetery Association will meet July 9, at 7 p.m., at Zion Church.

All interested persons should attend.

Meeting Date Changed

The Harmony Town Council has rescheduled its July 2012 meeting.

The meeting will take place Thursday, July 12, rather than July 3, due to the July 4 holiday.

All meetings take place at 7 p.m., in the Harmony Community Center.

Cruise-In

Habitat for Humanity of Clay County, in conjunction with Kroger, will conduct the second Cruise-In Cruising with Kroger event, Saturday, July 14, in the Kroger parking lot.

The event will begin at 5 p.m., and conclude at 9.

Food and drinks will be available for purchase and door prizes will also be available.

There is no charge to enter a classic car, truck or motorcycle.

Donations will be accepted and all proceeds will benefit Habitat for Humanity of Clay County.

Blood Drive

Indiana Blood Center hosts hundreds of blood drives each month.

During the month of July, the center will conduct a blood drive at the Clay County Beef Cattle Association, from 5:30-9 p.m., July 17.

Basketball Camp

The YMCA of Clay County, in conjunction with First Christian Church, will sponsor the Mega Sports Basketball Camp July 30-Aug. 3, from 6-8 p.m., each evening.

The event is offered to boys and girls entering into fifth- and sixth-grade.

Cost is $25, which includes a T-shirt, water bottle, sports cards and a Bible.

Registrations are due by July 16.

Seminar

The Carbon Post Office will host a free seminar, "A Simpler Way to Ship Your Online Items," Thursday, Sept. 22, at Carbon Town Hall, 14678 N. Locust St., Carbon.

The seminar will explain the online shopping process and help small businesses ship their items reliably and economically.

Speakers will include Postmaster Gloria Kruzan, Postmaster Relief Lynn Hughbanks and Fontanet Postmaster Kent Kadel.

Topics will include how to order free supplies, how to print labels online, how to save money with flat-rate packaging, how to request free package pickup, how to make returns trouble-free and more.
