Annual golf scramble date set

Friday, July 6, 2012

The annual Clay County Chamber of Commerce Golf Scramble will take place Friday, Sept. 21, at Forest Park Golf Course.

A shotgun start at 1 p.m., is planned, with lunch scheduled for noon.

Cost to register is $50 per person or $200 per team. Those interested in participating should send registration and checks payable to Clay County Chamber of Commerce, 535 E. National Ave., Brazil, Ind., 47834.

The scramble will run in four-person formats. Team handicaps will have a minimum of 25. If inclement weather forces the course to close, those registered to participate will be given a rain check for one round of golf -- with cart included -- for future use. Prizes will be raffled and no refunds will be given.

Singles, doubles, triples or whole teams may register. Teams will be made as needed.

The first-place low gross team will receive $400, while second-place will receive $200. The first-place team in Peoria Handicap will receive $400, and the second-place team will earn $200.

There will also be a $10,000 hole-in-one prize, sponsored by Bob Bowen Ford.

Hole sponsorships cost $100, which will include a hole sign and inclusion on all advertising. All cost is tax deductible.

Businesses who wish to contribute door prizes may also do so by sending the prizes to the Chamber.

All proceeds from the scramble will benefit the Clay County Chamber of Commerce.

For further information, call the Chamber at 448-8457 or e-mail info@claycountychamber.org.
