The following is a list of upcoming area events as provided to The Brazil Times:

Boil Order

Due to an outage of the high service pumps at the Carbon Water Works booster station, the water pressure in Carbon's water system fell below 20 psi.

When water pressure within a water system falls below 20 psi, towns and cities are required by the state to issue a boil water advisory.

Effective immediately, Carbon water customers will be on a boil order until further notice.

No Burning

Due to extreme weather conditions, the Harmony Town Council is asking all residents to not conduct any outside burning until further notice.

Health Tour

The Walgreens Way to Well Health Tour with AARP will visit the Brazil Walgreens Monday, July 9, from 11 a.m.-5 p.m.

The event will provide health tests, education and consulting services for free.

Association To Meet

McCullough Zion Gummere Cemetery Association will meet July 9, at 7 p.m., at Zion Church.

All interested persons should attend.

Park Board Meeting

The Brazil Parks and Recreation Board will meet Tuesday, July 10, at 6:30 p.m., in Brazil City Hall Council Chambers.

General business will be discussed and the public is welcome to attend.

Board To Meet

A regular meeting of the Brazil Board of Public Works and Safety will take place Wednesday, July 11, at 10:30 a.m., in Brazil City Hall Council Chambers.

Reading Program

The Brazil Public Library Summer Reading Program will continue Wednesday, July 11, at 1:30 p.m., as the library will host Indiana State University's "Bats of Indiana" program.

All youth are invited.

The event is free and open to the public.

Meeting Date Changed

The Harmony Town Council has rescheduled its July 2012 meeting.

The meeting will take place Thursday, July 12, rather than July 3, due to the July 4 holiday.

All meetings take place at 7 p.m., in the Harmony Community Center.

Breakfast!

The Reelsville Volunteer Fire Department will conduct its monthly breakfast from 7-11 a.m., July 14.

All are welcome to attend.

Yard Sale

Habitat for Humanity of Clay County will have a yard sale Saturday, July 14, from 9 a.m.-noon, in front of Clover Signs in Brazil.

A wide variety of items will be available for purchase.

Donations will be welcome.

All proceeds from the yard sale will help Habitat for Humanity of Clay County build its eighth home for a Clay County family.

Garden Tour

Putnam County Master Gardeners will host the second Garden Tour from 10 a.m.-4 p.m., July 14.

There are six gardens to see and enjoy.

Tickets are currently available at Hilltop Orchids, Treasures on the Square, Putnam County Visitors Bureau and the Putnam County Extension Office in addition to each of the gardens.

Cruise-In

Habitat for Humanity of Clay County, in conjunction with Kroger, will conduct the second Cruise-In Cruising with Kroger event, Saturday, July 14, in the Kroger parking lot.

The event will begin at 5 p.m., and conclude at 9.

Food and drinks will be available for purchase and door prizes will also be available. There is no charge to enter a classic car, truck or motorcycle.

Donations will be accepted and all proceeds will benefit Habitat for Humanity of Clay County.
