The Clay County Beef Cattle Association (CCBCA) will sponsor the annual Clay County 4-H Fair Beef Cook-off again this year.
The event will take place at 2 p.m., Sunday, July 15, near the Hospitality Building.
According to CCBCA officials, registration will be from noon-1:30 p.m.
All participants and their product must be ready for judging at 2 p.m. All burgers must be grilled on the premises while judges observe.
Contestants may begin grilling whenever they deem it necessary to have final products ready for presentation to the judges at 2 p.m. Late entries will have points deducted.
Contestants will be provided with one pound of ground beef to prepare. The contestant must provide any other items necessary for the competition --such as grills, turners, seasonings, fixings and more --.
There will be up to four judges. Contestants have the liberty to create one gigantic gourmet burger, quarter-pound patties or sliders.
Creativity of toppings and fixings and presentation will be scored.
Prizes will be awarded to the top finishers in two categories: Youth and Adult Divisions (depending on participation).
