Northview teacher wins lottery prize

Tuesday, July 10, 2012

Northview High School teacher James Latta recently won $120,000 on a Hoosier Lottery Scratch-off ticket.
INDIANAPOLIS -- Northview industrial technology teacher James Latta's pockets are going to be a little fatter.

Latta stopped for a soda and bought a $5 Double Platinum 20X Scratch-off ticket from a Rockville store, which ended up being worth $120,000.

Latta said the winning ticket will help make retirement more of a reality and he will be able to pay off his mortgage.

According to Latta, the winning ticket was purchased at Berry's Mini Mart, Rockville, and after realizing he won, Latta and his girlfriend, Lainey Kelley, immediately went to the Hoosier Lottery Headquarters in Indianapolis to cash in his winning ticket.

According to information, Latta is the first to claim a top prize ticket and five other $120,000 tickets in the $5 scratch-off game still remain unclaimed.
