Jackson Township Better Homes Extension Club
The Jackson Township Better Homes Extension Club met at the home of Shirley Koehler on June 28.
Marilyn Bott gave the blessing before the pitch-in meal was enjoyed. Lauralee Hawkins, vice president, called the meeting to order with Norma Diel leading the pledge to the American flag and Homemakers Club Creed.
Barbara Powell read "Remember Memorial Day," a poem by Betty Imogene Orme.
Ten members answered roll call by telling any special plans they have over the summer. Barbara led in singing, "The More We Get Together."
The secretary and treasurer's reports were read by Glenna Ogborn and approved. Norma's citizenship report covered the qualifications and duties of the President, Vice President, U.S. Senators and Representatives and the voters.
On July 19, at 1 p.m., the Ladies Day at the Fair will be held at the 4-H Fairgrounds.
On Aug. 24, Clay County will host the Fall District Meeting of the Extension Homemakers at the 4-H Fairgrounds.
Registration begins at 8:30 a.m. A donation was collected for the Clay County 4-H Sponsorship Program.
Barbara conducted the installation of officers for the coming year: Lauralee, president; Martha Ellen Knox, vice president; Glenna, secretary/treasurer; Mary Kent, reporter; and Marilyn, song leader.
Rose Mary Price and Ann Stigler were also present.
The next meeting will be a pitch-in on July 26, at noon, at the 4-H Exhibit Hall.
