* State Park Attendance up
FORT WAYNE, Ind. (AP) -- The Indiana Department of Natural resources says attendance and revenue for state parks and reservoirs is tapering off amid this summer's extreme heat and drought but both measures are still ahead of last year's pace.
Spokesman Phil Bloom told The Journal Gazette revenue from camping, entrance and rental fees had totaled $13.8 million through mid-July.
* Three die in automobile crash
BEDFORD, Ind. (AP) -- Three people died in a single-vehicle crash in Bedford.
The Bedford Police Department said the crash late Saturday killed 30-year-old Morgan Hutton of Bedford, 38-year-old Laura Duncan of Mitchell and 33-year-old Dasan Spires of Heltonville. All were pronounced dead at the scene of the crash.
The Times-Mail reported investigators haven't determined who was driving the 1979 Jeep that went off a road and struck a utility pole.
* Body of soldier returns to Indiana
BERNE, Ind. (AP) -- Thousands of people turned out to pay tribute to an Indiana National Guardsman killed in Afghanistan.
The body of Spc. Nicholas Taylor arrived Sunday afternoon at the 122nd Air National Guard Base in Fort Wayne.
WPTA-TV reported thousands of motorcycles joined a police escort during a 30-mile route to a Berne funeral home.
Taylor's funeral will take place at 11 a.m., Tuesday, at South Adams High School in Berne.
Doors will open at 10 a.m.
