Brazil Police officers arrested a Brazil man Sunday night for possession of marijuana with the intent to distribute.

According to Brazil Police Chief Clint McQueen, the arrest took place Sunday night at approximately 11:35 p.m., after patrolman Jeremy Mace conducted a traffic stop for speeding at the corner of Alabama and Maple streets.

McQueen said during the stop, patrolman Mace noticed Darius Hammond, 28, Brazil, exhibiting suspicious actions, which led him to contact K9 Officer Robert Van Buren.

Once on the scene, Officer Van Buren deployed his K9, Titan, who displayed a positive indication on the vehicle.

Officers discovered two ounces of marijuana inside the vehicle, which led to Hammond's arrest and initial charge of possession of marijuana with intent to distribute.

McQueen commended his officers for their efforts.

"Officers did an exceptional job of the traffic enforcement and further investigation, which lead to the discovery of illegal drugs," McQueen said.

jeremy mace is the only law enforcement officer that i know of; that carries the Constitution of the United States of America with him 24/7. due to this fact; he has my utmost respect.

it would be great; if laws were passed requiring all police officers to carry the Constitution as a reminder to their oath and be tested on it.

a few of the law enforcement officers that i have bumped heads with over the years; didn't even know how to read. they clearly couldn't have; because the fourth admendment is very clear. NO WARRANT NO ENTRY; ABSENT EXIGENT CIRCUMSTANCES!

" A PROBABLE CAUSE AFFIDAVIT FOR AN ARREST WARRANT" doesn't cut it! anyone that begs to differ with me; PUT IT IN WRITING AND SIGN YOUR NAME TO IT.

clint and dave, you need more guys like this man or your department. i am sure you guys think so to. with time; will come all good things.

brian, i think you picked a good man as chief but, he will never be as good looking as me.

i got faith in you guys being a big part of staightening this mess around here out.
